Canes on 'Canes is composed of knowledgeable and enthusiastic Rosenstiel students who help educate the public about the science of hurricanes and hurricane preparedness.
The Rosenstiel School hosts an annual interactive science learning event for underrepresented students in which they have the opportunity to virtually visit our laboratories and interact with scientists from a variety of backgrounds.
In partnership with the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Rosenstiel School annually hosts a six-week summer program as part of the Integrated Marine Program and College Training (IMPACT) where 65 low-income, first-generation college-bound students study various STEM topics.
Since 2008, students, faculty and staff from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science have been sharing their love for science and ocean conservation with children from underserved Miami communities through “Ocean Kids”.
In 2022, The Rosenstiel School collaborated with The Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida to bring 60 Girl Scouts to campus for a day of interactive learning with women in STEM.
Faculty and current students showcase the different research areas of the Rosenstiel School. Prospective students will have the chance to see our world-class laboratories firsthand and learn about research opportunities
Graduate students at the Rosenstiel School have prepared 30-minute interactive lessons for various demographics to be presented virtually or in person.
The Office of Engagement is able to coordinate campus tours Monday - Friday for groups of high school ages and above with no more than 25 total individuals per group.
